1.0 Absolute nightmare

Cons: I was recovering in this hotel from surgery and I have never felt more unwelcome and uncomfortable at a hotel from the moment that I walked in. Choosing to stay here was by far the worst decision I made for my trip to Istanbul. Not only did it smell bad, and have very uncomfortable beds and rude staff, but People smoke INSIDE of this hotel on all the floors. A lot. When I told them about this they acted like I was lying but admitted that some times people DISABLE the smoke detectors!! How dangerous for fire! Breathing second hand smoke is a terrible thing for recovery and health. They did give me another room after they were very rude to me. But that room had a broken bathroom door and broken fridge and my medication needed to be in the fridge. I went ahead and booked a room at another hotel for myself, but my friend who was also staying there with me in the same room was going to keep using the room so he could have some privacy. After they called and harassed me THREE times that day even though I kept telling them that he was coming back to the room and we were NOT checking out early, when he arrived later that same evening, they locked him out of the room and demanded more money to get back in even though we had 5 days left on our room rental. I have never experienced something like this. They accused us of trying to not pay our room service bill even though we gave them a deposit and a credit card. We were only gone 12 hours. Please do not make the mistake of staying here. It really was a terrible hotel and I have a very hard time believing that these 5 star reviews are real.
